Loren Dyer most recently served as Director of Revenue & Reimbursement at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, Florida for the last eight (8) years.

Mr. Dyer’s experience includes eight (8) years at TGH, two (2) years as Manager of Reimbursement at the Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina, five (5) years at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia as Manager of Reimbursement, three (3) years as Manager of Reimbursement at Integrated Health Services Inc. Home Health, two (2) years as Auditor at Aetna Life and Casualty – Medicare Fiscal Audit Intermediary, and two (2) years at Ernst & Young – Certified Public Accountants. During these 22 years Mr. Dyer has focused on healthcare Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement and Finance primarily focused on Hospital Medicare Reimbursement.

In these roles Mr. Dyer has gained experience and expertise in various aspects of hospital finance and revenue perfection including but not limited to, business agreements, bad debts, Medicare DSH payments, wage index data, medical education programs, Medicare transplant and acquisition related costs, multiple prospective payment systems, audit compliance, regulatory requirements, revenue preservation, net revenue performance and explanation, PRRB case development and settlement, Florida Medicaid Low Income Pool (LIP) processes, and charge-master control and maintenance. This expertise includes the related processes of financial reporting including financial statements, settlement accounts, periodic interim payment accounts, charity reporting, contractual and rate setting, allowances, budgeting, modeling, audit defense, investigation response, and performance reporting.

While with TGH, Mr. Dyer directed the preparation and analysis of cost reports, re-filings, re-openings, and reimbursement processes that resulted in the retrieval of over $ 70 million in additional incremental reimbursement. This reimbursement was a direct result of efforts in Medicare and Medicaid Acute, Rehab, Psych, transplant acquisition cost, and outpatient cost reporting and rate setting as well as PRRB case development, negotiation, and settlement activities combined with national DSH, IME, and GME case development. Additionally, cost reporting, documentation, audit defense, and proactive pursuit of all reimbursement issues on a contemporaneous basis lead to the preservation of this reimbursement revenue.

The years of experience and focus on a blend of specific reimbursement avenues give Mr. Dyer a developed perspective on how to go about realizing and preserving the right reimbursement for providers and clients.
